Cravings for Bread or Pasta Can Linger on a Gluten Free Diet

So many people these days are trying gluten free diets or are on a gluten free diet. Most often, if you are gluten sensitive or intolerant and go on a gluten free diet, you will feel much better, and that's great! Sometimes, after 'going off' of gluten, there can be an initial reaction and some cravings, but it subsides in a few days or weeks. Generally, feeling better lasts as long as you avoid all gluten containing foods.

But, what if you're avoiding these foods, and still crave them? That scenario is something I hear about a lot, and it makes me want to help. It's bad enough having cravings, but when you are craving something you REALLY want to avoid, it just makes the cycle of craving so much worse. It's like a battle develops between you and the food...which one will win?

The Battle

Anytime there is a battle going on in your body or your mind, you just can't win. Even if you don't give into the the craving, the battle takes it's toll. All of this can drain your energy, test your willpower, and it's just not a peaceful way of living.

At Peace with Gluten

What if you could be free of these cravings for bread, pasta or other gluten containing foods? What if you had a peaceful feeling in relation to bread or pasta instead of a strong craving that disturbs your thoughts? I've helped others and I can help you.

If you are curious about letting go of your cravings for bread and pasta, please contact me for a complimentary consultation. I have a strong background in nutrition, but I can help you on many other levels to be free of these cravings. It usually doesn't require further changes to your diet, but involves Acupressure that can be done over the phone. So, give me a call, I'd be happy to answer your questions so you can see if this is right for you.

Best,

Tea

Do You Crave Tea?

Lately, I've been working with a lot of women around their cravings for Tea and other drinks that contain Caffeine. Oftentimes, people that enjoy Tea or Coffee also feel they need the extra energy it provides, and they are not about to give that up. I can't blame them, as they can't see another way. So, I'm always happy when someone comes to me for help with these cravings.

All of the women I worked with had a desire for Tea, but had other issues that bothered them about it.

The theme at the beginning of their session sounded like this:

  • I need Caffeine to function
  • If I don't drink my Tea, I have no energy
  • I feel addicted to Tea
  • I enjoy Tea (yummy rich creamy texture), but I feel out of control
They realized their relationship with Tea was not a supportive one, it was no longer serving them. During their sessions, they realized the cravings were a desire for something else, something better in their lives that they had not thought about before. Once they had this insight, their craving for Tea and the feeling of need or dependence faded away.

The theme at the end of their sessions sounded like this:

  • I don't feel like I need Tea or Caffeine
  • I can still enjoy my Tea
  • I can feel satisfied with or without Tea
  • It's really not about the Tea!

After these women went back to their lives, the feedback I heard was...they actually had more energy after their session. They didn't need the caffeine anymore. And, the benefit was, they had some new insight that served them well in their lives, something that felt pretty good.

So, if you have a craving for Tea or Coffee, but would like to be less dependent and still enjoy it, contact me, I'd be happy to help you reach your goal. For more information, please visit:

Do You Crave Desserts in The Afternoon?

Here's a testimonial from a client that was craving desserts in the afternoon. She craved them, but if she gave into her craving, didn't feel good afterwards. She was also concerned about the cycle of craving and subsequent weight gain.

I am grateful to her for writing this, because we all have issues with food and it's good to know we're not alone. It's good to hear from others with similar issues and good to know there is a solution. Peace with food and freedom from food cravings can be found! Here's the testimonial:

"I was very doubtful that Acupressure could help me control my need for dessert every afternoon. But not only did Kara guide me through the food craving session, she also helped me get past the doubt – all 4 times I told her I was feeling it. That afternoon, I didn't obsess over dessert & I haven't since.

I think the session with Kara has helped me eat more consciously – only when I'm hungry & only until I'm full. I really didn't think it could work – but it did

Yes, food craving sessions can be done over the phone.

People are often surprised when I tell them that I can help them over the phone with their food cravings. 'You are an acupuncturist, aren't you using needles?' they ask. Yes, I am an acupuncturist, and yet for food cravings, I use an additional technique, that is needle free.

I use this technique because it is so effective at targeting and eliminating food cravings at their source. It's the best thing I've found in my 20 years in the health industry, to change one's food habits.
Here is a testimonial from someone that did her single session over the phone.

Please also note, this is unusual, most sessions take 60 minutes.

In one 30 minute phone session, I have effortlessly conquered my previous addiction to empty carbs!

Please also note that she used the word 'effortlessly' in regards to conquering her previous 'addiction.' The process is so easy, no effort is needed. It's so simple and easy, you just need to follow a mere 9 simple steps.

Please contact me if you would like more information about this simple and effective process. Sessions can be done in person at my SF bay area office or over the phone.

Food Cravings are very common, so common in fact, that many of us think they're normal and we just have to put up with them. A food craving becomes a problem when it bothers us, and when we feel out of control.

For example, I crave tea, but it doesn't bother me, as I drink it once a day, enjoy it, and am easily able to stop at one cup. I have had patients that craved tea and would drink it all day long. They felt wired, and it was a real problem for them before they came to see me. See the difference?

Ask yourself, 'Am I in charge of my eating, or is the food I crave more in charge? How is this affecting my peace of mind or body?'
Here are some common experiences with food cravings. If you answer YES to any of these scenarios, you may be able to find more peace with food than you're currently experiencing. Ask yourself:
  1. Do I think about specific foods I'd like to eat when I'm not truly hungry?
  2. Do I have specific cravings, that bother me, like sweets, chocolate or starches?
  3. If I eat the craved food, am I left feeling less than happy with myself?
  4. If I avoid the craved food, do I still think about it or have to distract myself?
  5. Do I have little or no control over my behavior when I have a craving for a specific food?
Food cravings are so prevalent, but they don't have to be. I have worked with many patients and helped them be free of their food cravings. Most often 1-2 sessions are all that are needed.

Being in charge of your eating is such a good feeling. Once you feel that feeling, you'll wonder how you ever tolerated food cravings.

How would it feel to be in charge of your eating? And remember, you don't have to give up your craved food, just the craving! Please contact me for more information:
