Maria Carrozza: Owner
Maria Carrozza, proprietor of The Gravity Center and Fit 4 U, LLC, is a Bucks County native who has over 18 years experience in the fitness industry. She has headed up personal training studios in both Las Vegas and Atlanta, has worked with some of the top metabolic specialists on selling Korr Metabolic testing equipment and Tanita Body composition equipment, she was the franchise fitness trainer for an international womenÂ’s only fitness company where she was directly responsible for training over 100 franchise owners and their staff.
Maria holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Sports Injury Management, Personal Training certification from the American College of Sports Medicine, Group Instructor certification from ACE, Pilates Mat certification from Powerhouse Pilates, Reformer certification from Stamina Mind Body Fitness, Youth Fitness Specialist certification from IYCA, Gravity Group, Gravity Personal Training, Gravity Pilates and Gravity Post-Rehab Certifications from EFI Sports Medicine.
Maria has extensive experience working with people on lifestyle changes and maintenance programs, as well as extreme fitness goals. Some of her success stories include women and men who have exceeded their weight loss goals of over 50 pounds or more, corporate executives who have run marathons, climbed Mt Everest and summited Kilimanjaro, as well as children who just want to have fun.
Jewel Kessler: Sales and Marketing Manager, GRAVITY Group Strength Trainer, GRAVITY Personal Trainer
Jewel Kessler received her group fitness certification from AFAA in 2003. She taught kickboxing and aerobics classes at Body Dynamics in Horsham, PA. Jewel started instructing group fitness classes for The Gravity Center Fitness Studio in January 2008 and received her GRAVITY Personal Training certificate in August 2008. She became the Sales and Marketing Manager in July 2008. She enjoys teaching challenging dynamic trainings to create a fun, effective, time efficient workout. Jewel will be leading our exciting new Fit-4-Kidz adolescent program at The Gravity Center Fitness Studio.
Sandy Erickson: GRAVITY Pilates Trainer, GRAVITY Pilates Personal Trainer, GRAVITY Group Strength Trainer
Sandy has been teaching at The Gravity Center Fitness Studio since 2005, and is certified to teach GRAVITY Pilates and GRAVITY Group Strength trainings. Sandy offers a very supportive and encouraging approach to her teaching style, creating an atmosphere where students are challenged to explore themselves and their goals within each training session. Sandy has a strong background in yoga, having been certified by Erich Schiffmann in 1987, and also teaches pilates mat and equipment classes In both private and group settings, since 1993. She has a unique way of combining the benefits of both disciplines in her classes. She continues to explore ways to integrate the benefits of strength training with flexibility while applying these techniques to the Gravity System.
Julie Merana: GRAVITY Group Strength Trainer, Rip-N-Ride Trainer
Julie has been with The Gravity Center Fitness Studio for over 2 years. She is certified to train GRAVITY Group Strength, GRAVITY Personal Training and Rip-n-Ride classes. She is a certified personal trainer through ACE. Julie is also a certified cycling instructor through AAAI and ISMA. She has a Bachelor of Art degree from Michigan State University.
Alisha Powers: GRAVITY Group Strength Trainer, Rip-N-Ride Trainer
Alisha's love for competitive sports and fitness started as a young child when she began gymnastics at the age of five. Alisha has traveled all over the United States competing in gymnastics, cheerleading, diving and softball. In 1998, Alisha was selected to be a Cheerleader in the 1998 Pro Bowl representing her hometown state, Maryland. For over 5 years Alisha took her passion for gymnastics and cheerleading to a whole new level coaching a traveling all-star team for youths. As a coach, Alisha was responsible for strength and conditioning training, instructing tumbling practices as well as choreographing routines. Alisha has been a member of The Gravity Center Fitness Studio team since March of 2007 certified to teach GRAVITY Group Strength and Rip-n-Ride classes. Alisha's energetic style integrates strength training, flexibility and aerobic conditioning into a fun and motivating workout.
Jackie Lawlor: GRAVITY Group Strength TRAINER
As a result of being an athlete her whole life, Jackie looks for new, unique and fun ways to keep active and in shape. After one year as a member, she became a certified GRAVITY Group Strength Trainer in June 2008. Jackie was inspired to become a Gravity trainer due to the incredible atmosphere that the studio encompasses providing healthy energy in every workout. Jackie incorporates that energy into every training motivating participants by creating a fun, fast paced workout that really gives results.
Jackie Morris: GRAVITY Group Strength Trainer, GRAVITY Personal Trainer
Jackie holds a B.S. degree in Health and Physical Education from East Stroudsburg University. She has worked in the public school system for over 15 years both as an Educator and High School Swim Coach. In 2008 she received her Personal Training Certification from ACE. Jackie was a competitive swimmer for 10 years. To stay in shape she enjoys running and working out on the GTS. She believes exercise promotes a healthy body, mind and soul. Her strength program will incorporate all major muscles groups in a playful arrangement of sets and repetitions. She looks forward to helping you reach your personal fitness goals.
Lisa Madden: GRAVITY Group Strength Trainer, Rip-N-Ride Trainer
Lisa Madden has been involved in Gravity since 2005. She graduated from James Madison University in VA in 2004 and has a BS degree in Health Science with a Minor in Nutrition. Lisa has been a Group Exercise Instructor for 6 years and enjoys teaching a variety of different classes. Lisa is certified through AFAA, AAAI/ISMA, and EFI Sports Medicine. LisaÂ’s goal for 2009 is to train and run the Broad Street Run this May. Lisa loves Gravity trainings because they are the best workout EVER! She loves helping and motivating people to challenge and change their bodies.
