SURGEON BREAKS TOE -- Experiences Deep Relief

Sunday, February 07, 2010

I recently began working for an association of trauma surgeons.
READ: Six very traditional allopathic docs who love to cut.

One morning, one of the docs came hobbling into the office with a badly broken toe and clearly in pain. I had some of the Pain & Muscle Spasm blend in my purse and thought about offering it for him to try, but I wondered,” Is this appropriate?” … I am new here and just becoming familiar with everyone and prescription remedies are clearly the first choice among this crowd.

Yet I went back to the surgeon’s office where he was talking with the head nurse practitioner, shoe off, foot propped up on the desk, big toe black with bruising and extremely swollen.  The break was already a couple days old. He looked up and said “Ya, what do you want?!!”

 “I noticed you’re hurting.

This is something I personally use and it is often helpful.

You’re welcomed to try it if you wish.”

He snorted, “Oh ya, what’s that?”

I answered, “This is an essential oil blend formulated to relieve symptoms and swelling.”

An undisguised smirk spread across his face – pure skepticism that made my heart pound and face blush red (gulp) but I shot back, “And if it works… you won’t be laughing!”

With that he surrendered – “SURE I’ll try anything, what do I do!”

I then gave HIM the roll-on bottle and directed him to coat the area in general. Even that light touch was excruciating, but he did as suggested, the head nurse practitioner witnessing the exchange, and I returned quietly to the front office hoping there would be no repercussions.

THE EPIPHANY

Ten minutes later, an astounded surgeon appeared – “HEY, what the heck is that stuff? I hate to admit it, but it WORKED!”  (Woo HOO!)  Further, he had no concept how such a thing could possibly work.  Honestly, I didn’t say a lot… I have waited a long time for this moment and small doses work just fine for a paradigm shift. All the co-workers were watching with fascination, many of them asking what is that stuff… and where can I get it? And I could see some serious mental wheels spinning everywhere.

Instead, I asked if he would like a few more oils layered on the area to improve on the situation? He plopped down and applied Lavender and Peppermint over the area, all the while marveling at how the swelling had clearly reduced and he was astounded at the tangible relief of the additional oils. Then off he went to surgery for the next trauma event.

A few hours later, a truly bewildered surgeon appeared again and displaying a normal sized toe and ball joint, the deep black bruising mostly wisps of red now as the bruising moved out. I offered another dose of the oils since it was Friday, and likely to be a long weekend for him with that toe.

NOW ABOUT THOSE VOO DOO OILS!

The following Monday I could hardly wait. When the surgeon appeared he strode directly toward me and announced loudly, “Now about those VOO DOO oils… you have no idea how it pains me to admit this, but they really WORKED! How much are they, and where can I get some?!!!”

I asked to see the toe, which had no swelling or bruising, even though he had been on it alot during the weekend. I offered another dose of oils and after applying them, he proceeded to stand in the middle of the room with everyone listening as he narrated how the oils were moving in, tingling, then cooling and numbing the pain… relief appearing on his face. He smiled and said he couldn’t wait to try it on his wife’s chronic neck symptoms… and from what I could gather he had been telling everyone about it.

***************************

When the oils arrived the following week, he was ecstatic! I also provided the EODR info on peppermint, lavender and the Pain/Muscle Spasm Blend, and pointed out the medicinal properties and uses, slipping in the Lemon info on the pathogens it neutralized by diffusion (Can anyone say hospital infection?) He was fascinated, scanning the information, asking questions, still not quite able to wrap his head around it but open. I mentioned Oil of Benzoin being the base for the long time wound and surgery disinfectant that hospitals had traditionally used… and how Coumadin and other meds were derived from isolated compounds in plants.

Basically, my explanation was that these oils are the “pure healing plant chemistry, before science got a hold of them and started messing with nature.” And I do believe he got it!  Wee Ha!

PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE!

I have been waiting YEARS for doorways such as this one to present themselves. And with this new job I receive calls all day long from people in pain, people being scheduled for the clinic or surgery and people who have become hooked narcotics and still hurting physically and emotionally. I find interesting that fate has placed me here, the silent holistic observer… where I cannot say a thing about alternative methods. The doc quipped that maybe he should quit what he is doing, and do what I do. Funny huh? His colleague confided that it’s a small miracle that he was receptive at all, being one of the more resistant to natural healing of the team. No doubt, there will be more good things to follow…
