About Alison
In one form or another, my life has always revolved around food and service . My mom moved my eleven-year old twin sister and me across country mid-year to follow a job at a place called the Hunger Project. Inspired by their message, I joined in my mother’s passion. I became the youngest ever Ending Hunger Briefing Leader and traveled from school to school educating children on how to end world-wide hunger. In college, escaping heart break and seeking adventure, I spent a summer in Indonesia, learning about Gandhi and farming. Upon my return to the states I nurtured my new found love for agriculture by interning at my university’s organic farm.
Three years later I found myself living at Green Gulch Farm Zen Center out in Northern California. I devoted my hours to studying Buddhism and growing organic vegetables. There I met my husband and we left the monastic life to start a family. Eventually we landed in a cohousing community committed to ecological sustainability. I went back to school, studied whole health and eventually opened up my own business. I continue to fuel my passion for food and service in my work as Super Nutrient Gal. I deeply believe that we can transform our lives through super foods, super thoughts and super actions.
