For degenerative diseases, like multiple sclerosis, lupus, arthritis and diabetes, chinese medicine can be very helpful, both in combination with western medicine and as a stand alone therapy.

In the past I worked in a rheumatology practice for 6 years and in a community health center for 10.  These experiences have given me a lot of opportunities to see degenerative diseases in action, and how my work can be helpful in dealing with them.

Pain can be dealt with acupuncture by raising the endoprhin level in the brain, therefore allowing the body to catch up
with the pain naturally.

Other symptoms like inflammation and disease specific symptoms can also be alleviated by using natural
chinese herbs, either in tablet or tincture form - in combination with acupuncture by helping the body heal itself.
For example, for diabetes, there are specific acupuncture points to deal with it, along with specific herbs to control
sugar metabolism in the body. Neuropathy can also be dealt successfully with acupuncture.

Overall, it is the goal of this medicine to adjust the QI, that is the internal energy, in order to help the body help itself.
