• I am one of the founders of altMD.
• As altMD's SVP of Business Development, my primary focus is delivering targeted and personalized Internet Marketing Solutions to our Members based on 20+ years of proven health care sales, marketing and Internet experience.
• Prior to starting altMD, I was Co-Founder of another Internet Company -- RECHANNEL Communications.
• Brian Shapiro, altMD's CEO, was my partner at RECHANNEL -- we had a successful Real Estate Marketing and Technology company which we built from scratch and eventually sold to eNeighborhoods, the market leader in the field.
• My experience also includes 3 years as VP Marketing & Sales at Informatix Laboratories -- a Health Care Information Technology start-up.
• I played a key role at Serono Laboratories for 9+ years as Executive Director in Sales, Marketing and Strategic Planning.  Serono -- now part of Merck -- is a leading Biopharmaceutical Company.
• Prior to Serono -- right out of college -- I worked for Marion Laboratories (now part of Aventis) in Sales and Marketing Research.
• I graduated from the University of New Hampshire - Whittemore School of Business and Economics with a dual-focus in Marketing and English. 
• My passions include my amazing family, mentoring Holistic Practitioners in what I lovingly call Marketing Therapy, and the art of culinary magic. 
• I am also a dedicated champion of helping to bring unity to the CAM Community. 

• Dr. Bauman received his Masters in Education from the University of Massachusetts and Ph.D. in Health Education from the University of New Mexico.
• He is the director of Bauman College: Holistic Nutrition & Culinary Arts with distance learning and class room programs in Berkeley, Penngrove and Santa Cruz, CA and Boulder, CO.
• Dr. Bauman has been a ground breaking leader and author in the field of whole food nutrition for the past 35 years. He developed the Eating for Health™ nutrition model, an effective way to promote optimal health, address life changing illness and discover the joy of eating fresh, local, seasonal, organic, natural foods.
• Dr. Bauman is the author of Eating for Health: A Guide to Optimum Health and Vitality, The Recipes and Remedies for Rejuvenation Cookbook, and Controlling Cancer in our Community.
• Dr Bauman is a delightfully wise, practical and inspiring teacher/mentor, who makes complex nutritional information easy to digest and assimilate. For the past 23 years Dr. Bauman has been leading Vitality Fasting Retreats, wherein participants live in a pristine, natural setting and enjoy a healing diet of fresh juices, herbal teas, vital shakes, and mineral broths.
  • Participants will receive ample rest for rejuvenation while having the opportunity to engage in yoga, meditation, massage, hiking, colon cleansing and nutrition education classes.

• Dr. Guiltinan’s practice is focused on women’s health and she has been a practicing naturopathic physician for 20+ years.
• Jane is responsible for the amazing Naturopathic Medicine content on altMD.com.
• She graduated from Bastyr University in 1986. She completed two years of residency training at Bastyr, and is currently a clinical professor there. She was the Medical Director of Bastyr’s teaching clinic from 1992 until 1998, and Dean of Clinical Affairs at Bastyr from 1998 until 2003.
• She was the co-medical director for the King County Natural Medicine Clinic, the first publicly funded integrated health clinic in the United States.
• Dr. Guiltinan was the Medical Director on the Healing AIDS Research Project, and co-author of the paper that was published in The Journal of Naturopathic Medicine in 1992.
• She was the principal investigator for another clinical trial in AIDS research at Bastyr, and has been involved in research on naturopathic treatments for fibroid tumors in women.
• She participated on an NIH grant awarded to the Group Health Center for Health Studies in a clinical trial of alternative treatments for menopause. Results from that trial have been published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
• She has presented to both professional and public conferences internationally, including a presentation to a subcommittee of the British Parliament.
• She shared the Blackmore International Award for Outstanding Research in Natural Medicine in 1990.
• She was awarded the 1995 Physician of the Year by the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. She was elected to the AANP Board of Directors in August of 2002, served as President in 2006 and 2007, and is currently Immediate Past President.
• In October of 1998 she was appointed to the Board of Trustees of Harborview Medical Center, and is currently serving a third term on that Board.

• Fred Shaffer, PhD, is a professor of Psychology and former Department Chair at Truman State University, where he has taught since 1975.
• He completed a MS in Clinical Psychology (1973) and a PhD in Social-Personality Psychology from Oklahoma State University (1975).
• His specialty area is Applied Psychophysiology and has served as Director of Truman’s Applied Psychophysiology research program since 1977.
• He is a Biofeedback Certification Institute of America (BCIA) Senior Fellow and a member of its Executive Committee.
• He has served on the Association of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB) Board and as its Education Chair and Program Chair, and is a consulting editor for Biofeedback and contributing editor for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback.
• He authored Biofeedback Tutor (2008), a multimedia tutorial in biofeedback and co-authored with Donald Moss, PhD, a chapter on biofeedback in the Textbook of complementary and alternative medicine (2nd ed.) and the Heart rate variability training suite for the Biofeedback Foundation of Europe.
• Dr. Shaffer is responsible for the terrific unique Biofeedback/Neurofeedback content on altMD.com.

• Diane Fragale is a certified, licensed Colon Hydrotherapist, Massage Therapist, Yoga Teacher and Natural Healer.
• Diane recently relocated from NYC where she was in private practice for eight years.
• She brings extensive expertise and knowledge in the areas of colon cleansing, physical detoxification, diet, natural healing, yoga, meditation, lifestyle changes and improved consciousness.
• Currently, Diane is in private practice in Miami, Florida as well as working in local spas, health club facilities and yoga centers. Above all, Diane is a compassionate healer dedicated to the continued growth and improvement of her clients and students on the path to improved health, well being and increased consciousness.

• After a lifetime association with his aunt, Eunice Ingham, it is no surprise at all that, Dwight C. Byers now continues expanding her work with concise, comprehensive and authorative threatise on foot reflexology.

• Kelli Calabrese is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, Personal Trainer and 21 year fitness industry leader residing in Flower Mound, TX.  She wrote a great deal of the Personal Training content on altMD.
• She is the owner of Calabrese Fitness Consulting.
• She is the author of Feminine, Firm and Fit – Building A Lean Body in 12 Weeks.
• She is on the board of advisors for Perdue University, Get America Fit Foundation, Exercise TV, and iParenting.

• Ms Calabrese owned and operated a chain of health clubs in NJ for 14 years and was the lead fitness expert for eDiets and eFitness for 3 years.

• Dr. Debra Burns has been a music therapist for twenty years and prepared most of altMD's unique content on Music Therapy.
• She graduated from Illinois State University in 1993 with a Masters in Music and a Music Therapy Equivalency.
• She received a PhD in Music Education and Music Therapy from the University of Kansas in 1999.
• Prior to joining the faculty at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis in 2004, Dr. Burns completed postdoctoral research fellowships funded by the Walther Cancer Foundation and the National Institutes of Health National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
• Her research training focused on alleviating symptoms distress and improving the quality of life of cancer patients in active treatment.
• She maintains an active research program exploring the various benefits of music therapy for cancer patients.
• She has presented nationally and internationally on these topics.
• Dr. Burns is the coordinator of Music Therapy education programs at the Department of Music and Arts Technology at the School of Engineering and Technology on the IUPUI campus.
• Dr. Burns is an active member of the American Music Therapy Association and has co-authored books focusing on music therapy techniques and research.
• She is also an active reviewer for Music Therapy Perspectives and the Indiana University Cancer Center Scientific Review Committee.

• Karyn Siegel-Maier is a freelance writer, editor and book author specializing in holistic pet health, botanical therapies and many other healkth & wellness modalities. 
• A lay herbalist and member of the International Aromatherapy and Herb Association, she has written more than 300 feature articles and columns for numerous consumer and industry health-related publications in the US, Canada and the UK, and her books are published in three different languages.

• Karyn resides in the majestic Catskill Mountains of New York, with her husband, three sons (now grown), three delightful felines and the latest addition to the family—an Australian Shepard puppy.

• The Spirit Within Massage & Hypnosis Center of La Porte, Indiana was opened in 1998 and has continued to offer services oriented to supporting clients on their journey for improved health and wellness.
