Tami Close Video Obama's Health Care Reform

Heath care certainly is on the forefront of everyone's mind.  With this said, let's look at what "health care" really means.  To me, it means taking care of one's own health.

Now, I don't know all the particulars of the Obama's Health Care Reform bill, but the bits and pieces I've heard is that it relates to affordable health care costs, and making it available for all.  And I would add the element of taking responsibility for one's own health care in this reform.

I can so relate to taking responsibility for one's health.  When I was very ill several years ago to the point that I was bedridden, I created this situation so that I could learn about myself.  I had myriad of things going on in my life, and I had to learn the components necessary to transform my own health.

During this time, I heard a strong message, "You are going to have to leave the medical community behind in order to achieve your desire of optimum health."  I didn't know exactly what this meant, but I was soon to find out as I was going to doctor to doctor intending to have them find out what was wrong with me, and then fix me.

Somebody please fix me....

It was all about the diagnosis because that's how our health care system is designed. and the fixing of the diagnosis.   Yet, diagnosis is only a word, and I can accept this word and make it part of me, and then say, "I have this thing."  And then rely on other people's perceptions of this word and their frame of reference, their belief system, in order to correct this word and make it better.  And I wasn't getting any better with this plan; I was only getting worse.

You know, we were given our own healing system in order to make us feel better.  The body heals itself automatically when the right components are given in order to aid this healing system to operate at its optimum.  We know what we need to do, but often times we're looking outside ourselves because we don't want to take responsibility for ourselves.  And we wear the sign, "Please somebody fix me because I don't know how to fix myself."

Believe me, I know this way of thinking.  This is how I got myself sick.  I had to adopt a different way of thinking and being in order to allow my well being to unfold.  It was a learning process, and it was the best MBA (masters being abundant) I could have ever gotten.

Thus, I truly believe that Obama's Health Care Reform must have the "individual responsibility" component in its plan.  We must teach the individual how to create his or her own health care package.

IWhen you think about it, even if I was given free health insurance and free access to doctors, it doesn't mean I'm going to be healthy.  That's why we have to create a component in the health care reform that teaches how to create health.

This is why I am so passionate about health care, and what motivates me to help others.  Having said this, I get to coach people from this frame of reference, and then I also get to work with companies in creating wellness programs that teach the individual employee to accept responsibility.  It truly is a passion of mine, and I have a blast with it.

Remember, teach a person how to fish?  The same principle applies here.  Teach a person how to create health, and you have health for a life time.  And it's much more fun to adopt this way of thinking!
