Welcome to Professional Writer & Mental Health Advocate
Empowering Through Words.
Do you wish that clients were flocking to your natural health care practice? Well, it may surprise you to know that they're actually out there looking for your services. If you don't own a Web site or if you haven't done search engine optimization (SEO) on it, you must act. Here's why...
In 1999, The Fraser Institute published the first ever comprehensive study of Canadians' use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), such as chiropractic, naturopathic and herbal therapies. But the health care world has changed considerably since then. To find out whether Canadians have changed their attitudes towards natural health care, The Fraser Institute commissioned Ipsos Reid to conduct a national survey in 2006. The results of this survey were published on May 23, 2007.
The survey found that during the latter half of 2005 and the first half of 2006, Canadians spent more than $5.6 billion on visits to alternative health practitioners, compared to nearly $2.8 billion in 1997. But if you add the money they spent on books, medical equipment, herbs, vitamins and special diet programs, the estimated total spending on alternative medicine increases to $7.84 billion. Public knowledge about natural health has grown significantly since 1997 because they are now able to search for the services they need on the Internet.
Canadian consumers are obviously spending money on natural health like never before. But why aren't they spending their money with you? You need to re-examine your marketing strategies. How are you trying to expand your client base? Have you launched a Web site so that your clients can find the services you offer? Is your Web site optimized for the best possible search engine results? Do you take the time to retain your existing clients?
