Your life should be fun, full of energy, freeing, spirited and uniquely about you. If it doesn't feel that way for you, give me a call.
I can help get you going again.
We're in this together, I am here to help.
Daily we help clients overcome their chronic pain and physical limitations using a holistic, whole body approach to pain management.
A body that is healthy, functional and pain-free comes from proper postural alignment, joint position and function. This is what separates us from any other fitness and pain reduction training programs within the Twin Cities. If you're tired of living in chronic pain - help is on the way!
In addition to these specialized fields, I also hold Bachelor's Degrees from the University of Manitoba in Physical Education and Recreation Studies. I have over 20 years experience in movement education, and have specialized in restorative posture work and chronic pain relief for the last ten.
I offer a variety of private and group programs in a fully equipped and insured home studio. At Pain Free Posture MN and Pilates Integration Mind.Body.Spirit.
I specialize in non-medical pain relief by teaching students how to balance their bodies through a wide variety of methods and techniques best suited to your unique needs.
The services, training and instruction I provide include:
- Postural Alignment Therapy in the Egoscue Method
- STOTT Pilates restorative and traditional matwork
- Reformer, cadillac, chair and barrels and injuries and special populations
- Pink Ribbon Program post-rehabilitative breast cancer exercise, American Council on Exercise Group Fitness
All of these modalities address muscle imbalances, structural alignment problems and dysfunctional movement patterns, which over time create abnormal wear and tear on your body, resulting in stress and pain. I am highly trained to analyze your current movement patterns and select the right corrective exercises to improve your body’s biomechanics and remove the negative stresses from your body. It’s these negative stresses that cause joints to wear down, muscles to over and under work and ultimately result in pain and affect your ability to move normally.
Even very small structural changes (due to poor mechanics, injuries, activities of daily living, postural habits) if they occur over time, alter your muscles and joints ability to perform properly. Why? No muscle works alone; each is connected to another part of the body. Muscles works in pairs or opposition to one another.
My education and experience allow my to combine the scientific principles of biomechanics, kinesiology, physics, exercise physiology and motor learning to assess and correct the cumulative stress on your body. By reintroducing proper function to your major load joints and postural muscles I am able to help guide your body back into proper function, which in turn restores correct posture alignment.
As your postural alignment, muscle balance and joint load function improve, your body stops compensating for imbalances and you are able to move freely. The pain goes away!
From young children to competitive and recreational athletes and men and women in the later stages of life, we have a program to suit your needs.
